Make Support of STV a Spiritual Question

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
(Matthew 6:21)

St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Church has always, throughout its 40+ year history, been well supported by its parishioners. This is something that we can be proud of and thankful for. However, this is also something that we often do not think very much about. We know that when we are in church on Sunday there will be some sort of collection, but we don’t usually think very much about this, either before the collection or afterwards. We see this as just a part of going to church. However, stewardship, how we use what God has given us, is something that we should consider and something that we should plan.

How to Support St. Vladimir's
14/7/22, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

People often ask us how they can make donations to St. Vladimir’s other than by making a donation at church. We work continuously to make this as easy for our parish family and friends as we can and we appreciate your feedback in this regard. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF YOUR PARISH!

During this time of economic difficulty we need your support more than ever! We understand that your bills are higher now than in the past. But so are the parish bills. AND – we are being asked to help those who cannot pay their own bills because of the economic situation. Please establish a regular tithe in support of the parish which God has entrusted to us! You can do that, and investigate other means of supporting St. Vladimir's at this page:

Arrange Commemorations for Friends and Loved Ones

The single best way for us to pray for our friends and loved ones is to arrange for them to be remembered at the Divine Liturgy. We serve approximately 130 Divine Liturgies per year, so your friends or loved ones will be prayed for approximately ever three days as a rule at St. Vladimir's. Please visit the page linked below to learn more and to arrange for your friends and loved ones to be commemorated at the Divine Liturgy at St. Vladimir’s.

The Ann Arbor Orthodox Classical Academy (A2OCA) school board is seeking additional volunteers to join the board who are passionate about offering children a quality, Orthodoxy education in the classical education tradition. Our new school building is under construction, and we are currently working towards planning and offering a microschooling program and online program for the 2022-2023, as well as a 5-day program the following school year (2023-2024). We need your help to make this happen! If you are interested in learning more about A2OCA feel free to visit our website at a2oca.org and/or e-mail us at info@a2oca.org. If you are interested in volunteering your time and talents towards this important cause, kindly e-mail us at info@a2oca.org to let us know. Board terms begin in July and run for two years. If you have experience in communications and/or marketing that would be a plus, but not a requirement.

Weekly Educational Offering - Prepare for the Coming Sunday!
13/7/22, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

We present here a short educational offering for both children and adults on the upcoming Sunday's principle Gospel reading so that all can better prepare for the Divine Services. Parents are asked to review the children’s portion with their children. It is very important for us to attend the Divine Services on Sundays and whenever else we are able, but in addition it is our spiritual responsibility to educate ourselves and our families in the faith. It is our hope that this mid-week offering will be an aid in this regard. Please contact Fr. Gregory with questions or suggestions.

Quarter 1, 2022 Stewardship Education Communication
12/7/22, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

At the Parish Council meeting on March 11, 2017 a Stewardship Education Team was appointed by the Parish Council consisting of Fr. Gregory, Jack (Alexey) Mitchel, and Leta (Ksenia) Nikulshina. The charge of this team is to provide our parish family with educational information about stewardship. In this regard, we intend to send out an email and post on our parish web site a quarterly communication in preparation for a quarterly parish finance report out.

Please find the quarterly communication at the link below. Please note that we will have a question and answer period and report out during the parish meal on Sunday, July 17, 2022 to allow for questions in an open forum. However, please feel free to contact any of us, or any of the Parish Council members, with questions at any time. Or, if you prefer, use the second link below to ask a question or make a comment anonymously.

We thank you sincerely for your generous support of our parish! And we look forward to hearing from you at your convenience regarding this information.

Looking Forward – Next Hierarchal Visit + Ordination
12/7/22, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

God willing, Archbishop Peter will visit our parish on Saturday, August 27. Please begin to plan now for that date so that you can join us for the visit of our Abba – our father in Christ. Our hierarchs are the successors to the Apostles. All should plan to be present for the Divine Services on August 26 and 27, and if at all possible to prepare to partake of Holy Communion on August 27. Archbishop Peter has blessed the ordination of Subdeacon Dmitri Mihaliov as a Deacon, and that ordination will take place at the Liturgy on August 27. DO NOT MISS THIS VISIT!
