School Thanks + Next Steps

THANK YOU TO ALL who made it possible for us to meet and exceed our mandated goal for fund raising for the new school building. Already today Jack is running around finalizing permits and we are working to get the building up before the construction season ends. Please continue to pray for the success of this endeavor! God willing we will get the shell of the building up this construction season, prepare the interior during the winter, and be ready to welcome families to the school as they are making decisions about their 2019 school plans. If all goes well we will begin instruction in the fall of 2019 and this is our plan. Your spiritual and financial support have made this possible and we are VERY thankful for your efforts! With God’s help and your support we have great hope that instruction will begin in September 2019!

“‘And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit’ (Acts 2:3-4). They partook of fire, not of burning but of saving fire; of fire which consumes the thorns of sins, but gives luster to the soul. This is now coming upon you also, and that to strip away and consume your sins which are like thorns, and to brighten yet more that precious possession of your souls, and to give you grace; for He gave it then to the Apostles. And He sat upon them in the form of fiery tongues, that they might crown themselves with new and spiritual diadems by fiery tongues upon their heads. A fiery sword barred of old the gates of Paradise; a fiery tongue which brought salvation restored the gift.”

Special Parish Meeting is Sunday, October 7, 2018
3/10/18, 12:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

On Sunday, August 26, 2018 we held an extraordinary parish meeting at which the Parish Council was given a charge to secure pledges of $1,200/month for 5 years OR collect $70,000 by September 23 to begin construction of our parish day school. We didn’t quite get there – but we are close. And we have a lot of fund raising momentum. So at our Parish Council meeting on September 30, 2018 the council voted to call a special meeting on Sunday, October 7, 2018. Archbishop Peter has blessed us to hold this meeting. At this meeting the Parish Council will present a proposal, which was approved at the September 30 meeting, to begin building now. At this point, with the funds and pledges we have raised, we can accomplish a huge chunk of the project. And given the fund raising momentum, we have great hope that by the time we finish the part that the funds already raised will allow us to complete, the rest of the funds will have been raised and we can finish the project on time. But we need your support to do it! So please plan to join us at the meeting this Sunday. More information can be found here:

If you'd like to help us get even closer to our $1200/month goal please visit this link (or contact me - you can only give using a credit card at this link and we understand that doesn't work for everyone):

“[L]et us consider whether is harder, for a man after having been buried to rise again from the earth, or for a man in the belly of a whale, having come into the great heat of a living creature, to escape corruption. For what man knows not, that the heat of the belly is so great, that even bones which have been swallowed moulder away? How then did Jonas, who was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly, escape corruption? And, seeing that the nature of all men is such that we cannot live without breathing, as we do, in air, how did he live without a breath of this air for three days? But the Jews make answer and say, The power of God descended with Jonas when he was tossed about in hell. Does then the Lord grant life to His own servant, by sending His power with him, and can He not grant it to Himself as well? If that is credible, this is credible also; if this is incredible, that also is incredible. For to me both are alike worthy of credence. I believe that Jonas was preserved, for all things are possible with God Matthew 19:26; I believe that Christ also was raised from the dead; for I have many testimonies of this, both from the Divine Scriptures, and from the operative power even at this day of Him who arose—who descended into hell alone, but ascended thence with a great company; for He went down to death, and many bodies of the saints which slept arose [Matthew 27:52] through Him.”

Please read here a short piece about the best way to support St. Vladimir’s – by making a planned recurring gift to our parish:
