Congratulations to those Celebrating Nativity Today
25/12/20, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

We congratulate all our parish friends and family who are celebrating the Incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ today. Although we will not celebrate for 13 days as a parish we understand that most of our society is celebrating today - and whether you celebrate today or in 13 days it is still remarkable and noteworthy that more than 2000 years after the birth of the Savior the world still pauses to note His Incarnation on this day. May this be the year that the hymn of the angels heard all those centuries ago over Bethlehem be actualized in our world: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, goodwill and peace.”

Posted by Fr. Gregory

Dear St. Vladimir’s Parishioners! We would like to urge you to consider whether making a donation to the parish before December 31, 2020 would be helpful for you as you consider your tax liability for the year 2020. Donations to St. Vladimir Church are deductible to the greatest extent allowable by law. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions in this regard. It is also very important that your address be up to date in our parish database. If you have moved this year please contact our parish Secretary, Lauren Rogers (info@stvladimiraami.org), with your new address.

Divine Liturgy Added 12/25/20
21/12/20, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

I spoke with Fr. Michael Carney this week about the feast day in Lake Odessa this year. We decided, given the pandemic, it is better not to mix our parish families at this time. Therefore, rather than encouraging folks to go to Lake Odessa this year we will have Liturgy at St. Vladimir’s. Please join us on December 24 at 6:00 p.m. and December 25 at 8:00 a.m. for the Divine Services for St. Herman of Alaska. All are welcome! Please sign up on our parish home page so we’ll be able to manage the number of people. If there is not enough space in the church proper we’ll move the services to the winter worship space.

Weekly Educational Offering - Prepare for the Coming Sunday!
16/12/20, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

We present here a short educational offering for both children and adults on the upcoming Sunday's principle Gospel reading so that all can better prepare for the Divine Services. Parents are asked to review the children’s portion with their children. It is very important for us to attend the Divine Services on Sundays and whenever else we are able, but in addition it is our spiritual responsibility to educate ourselves and our families in the faith. It is our hope that this mid-week offering will be an aid in this regard. Please contact Fr. Gregory with questions or suggestions.

For Adults: from the writings of Blessed Theophylact

For Children: from the Antiochian Archdiocese (various age groups)
