After our festival, our Christmas Bake Sale is probably our greatest outreach to the community. Let there be no mistake this is also a fund raiser. So , just like the festival, this can be a missionary activity that also supports our parish. So lets all join together and make this the BEST BAKE SALE EVER! First, spread the word share this flyer with everyone you know and everyone you dont:

Get our Facebook event on your Facebook page find that on our St. Vladimir Facebook page and share it!

Bake until you drop! Then take a breath, get up, and do it again! :) Contact our Head Sister, Leta Nikulshina, to let her know what you plan to bake so she can manage the overall event and make sure we dont all make the same cookies. :) Her email is headsister@stvladimiraami.org and her cell number is 734-272-3826. Weekly Educational Offering
30/11/16, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

We present here a short educational offering for both children and adults. Parents are asked to review the childrens portion with their children. It is very important for us to attend the Divine Services on Sundays and whenever else we are able, but in addition it is our spiritual responsibility to educate ourselves and our families in the faith. It is our hope that this mid-week offering will be an aid in this regard. Please contact Fr. Gregory with questions or suggestions.

For Adults: the explanation of last Sunday's gospel reading by Blessed Theophylact:

Where is the #GivingTuesday Email from our Parish?
29/11/16, 12:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory
Today, no doubt, you have been virtually attacked by emails from various nonprofits asking for support. You may be wondering where the email is from our own St. Vladimir parish. The short answer is: there will not be one. Why? We fully understand part of your tithe is supporting our parish, but also supporting other worthy nonprofits. And we think that is good! We have a few favorites that we would like to recommend to you. Please consider supporting one of the following in addition to supporting your parish. We thank you for your support today and all throughout the year!

Confession & Communion at St. Vladimirs + Rule to Prepare for Communion
28/11/16, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory
Confession and Communion are the two sacraments we most often partake of as Orthodox Christians and thus it behooves us to learn about these, how to prepare for these, and how to best take advantage of the Grace that our Lord freely gives us in these sacraments. At St. Vladimirs we have created a special web site for this purpose with much information in this regard. Please find the web site listed below and please contact Fr. Gregory with questions!

Congratulations to all with the beginning of the Nativity Lent!
28/11/16, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory
We congratulate all our parish family with the beginning of the yearly Lenten period preceding the feast of our Lords Nativity! This Lenten period begins November 28 each year and runs until January 7 the feast of our Lords Nativity. This Lenten period is much less stringent than Great Lent. During this fast, as usual, we abstain from meat and dairy products. But fish is allowed on many days. Please consult our parish schedule (linked below) for more details on the culinary aspects of fasting. Of course, the culinary fast is a tool to aid us spiritually to prepare for our Lords Nativity it is not an end unto itself. If you have not fasted in the past please consult Fr. Gregory for practical advice on how to be successful in fasting. Fasting a very important way that we place ourselves in obedience to the Church, the Ark of our salvation, and extraordinarily helpful in our spiritual struggle to draw nearer to our Lord at this special time of year.

New Parking Spaces Please be Attentive
25/11/16, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory
Please note that with our new parking lots comes a new paradigm of providing reserved spaces for expectant mothers and for guests. We have placed signs in the spots that are reserved for this purpose. It is essential that those who are visiting for the first time find easy parking this is the reason for the four guest spots we have reserved for guests. It is also essential that we support those families with young children this is the reason for the two spots we have reserved for these families. The Church encourages us to have as many children as we reasonably can we want to acknowledge that reality with our parking lot design. Reserved spots are found in the newly-paved lot just north of the handicapped lot. Thank you for your support of our efforts in this regard!
