Lampadas above the Royal Doors - Please be Attentive
14/9/23, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

We ask all to be attentive to the system we have devised to help folks know when they can and when they cannot move about during the Divine Services to light candles, etc. Even as we ask all to be attentive we also ask all to be loving, and if someone clearly is not aware that we have reached a time in the Divine Service when we should be still that we share that information with them lovingly and in a way that will not cause embarrassment. Please contact Fr. Gregory with questions or concerns. The ideal time to venerate icons and light candles is before the Divine Liturgy if at all possible. If not possible - please attend to the lampadas above the Royal Doors!

Happy Ecclesiastical New Year!
14/9/23, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

The Church year begins on September 1/14 each year. Quickly following the beginning of the year is the feast of the Nativity of the Mother God, just one week from today.

Today also marks the first day of classes in our Ann Arbor Orthodox Classical Academy. Following Liturgy today we will serve a moleben before the beginning of the instruction of children. Liturgy begins at 9:00 a.m. We congratulate all the instructors and students with the beginning of the school year, and all St. Vladimirians with the beginning of the Church Year!

Most of us attend Liturgy regularly on Sundays, but rarely other days. Still, it is good to know when we make prostrations on weekdays, and this is why we have put together this handout. Please contact Fr. Gregory or Fr. Colin with questions. See the handout in PDF format here:

Weekly Educational Offering - Prepare for the Coming Sunday!
13/9/23, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

We present here a short educational offering for both children and adults on the upcoming Sunday's principle Gospel reading so that all can better prepare for the Divine Services. Parents are asked to review the children’s portion with their children. It is very important for us to attend the Divine Services on Sundays and whenever else we are able, but in addition it is our spiritual responsibility to educate ourselves and our families in the faith. It is our hope that this mid-week offering will be an aid in this regard. Please contact Fr. Gregory with questions or suggestions.

12/9/23, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

Ten percent of proceeds from our annual festival will benefit war refugees! Please spread the word - people need to know! Often folks have weird misconceptions about our parish. We hope this will dispel at least one of those misconceptions, and we invite everyone to our festival to dispel the rest of those misconceptions! No politics are allowed at STV - just worship of the Triune God and sincere efforts to live according to the Gospel. All are welcome! Join us for our festival - and every Sunday!
