Church School Year begins September 21 - Register Now!
3/9/19, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

On August 22 our Church School faculty met with our Church School Coordinator, Alexandra Pyrozhenko. The meeting was marked by a spirit of cooperation and with great zeal to execute the ministry of teaching our children and young adults the important aspects of their faith they will need to persist as active members of the Holy Church as adults. The Church School Year will begin on September 21, on the feast of the Nativity of the Theotokos. That day all Church School students are invited to attend the Divine Liturgy, partake of the Holy Mysteries, and prepare a gift for the Mother of God: a poem, a song, art work, etc. - each child should use the talents the Lord has given him or her to prepare a gift for our most important intercession before the Lord.

Monday First Things - Teachings of the Holy Fathers
2/9/19, 06:00 AM

The Lord remained silent before Pilate and Herod; He made no attempt to justify Himself. You must imitate His holy and wise silence when you see that your enemies accuse you, with every intention of certain conviction; they accuse only with the purpose of hiding their own evil intention under the guise of judgment.

Walk of Life Canceled
30/8/19, 12:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

Unfortunately, due to a lack of registrants, the Walk of Life Pilgrimage has to be canceled for this year. Many, many thanks to all who worked so hard to prepare for the walk, and many condolences! Unfortunately so few people registered that it simply made no sense to expend so many resources for such a small number. May God reward all who worked so hard in this life and the next even though the pilgrimage will not take place this year.

Spring and Summer Brings Missionaries to our Doors - Share the Orthodox Faith
29/8/19, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

As the weather grows warm missionaries from various religions tend to appear at our homes. At St. Vladimir's we have many pamphlets and booklets on the Orthodox Faith that are free for anyone to take. These can be found at the back of the church near the main entrance doors. Please feel free to take information home with you to share with the missionaries that come to visit you. It seems only fair that if they want us to take their information that we offer them information about Orthodox Christianity. Many missionaries have found the Orthodox Church in this way. No one is mandated to do this, but if you would like to you are welcome to. Please feel free to contact Fr. Gregory with questions in this regard.

Thank you to all who gave generously to Zoe for Life at our special collection yesterday. We met our $1000 match so Zoe for Life will receive $2000 from St. Vladimirs for their important work! We are grateful to our matching donor who motivated us to do this good work. May the Lord reward all who gave so generously to help mothers in crisis pregnancies decide to keep, rather than abort, their babies!
