This coming Sunday, the great feast of Pentecost, the sign up for festival duties will be available at St. Vladimirs. We are VERY EXCITED to confirm that the Russian Festival will take place this year after a one year break due to the pandemic. People are ready we are hearing from them already that they are looking forward to the festival! Now we need yo (wait something is missing there and that is u). Please sign up early and for as much time as you can as a volunteer. This is fun! It is work but it is fun! We all work together to introduce our neighbors to our faith and culture and provide a wholesome family environment for all. Please join us! Sign up this Sunday!

Weekly Educational Offering - Prepare for the Coming Sunday!
16/6/21, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

We present here a short educational offering for both children and adults on the upcoming Sunday's principle Gospel reading so that all can better prepare for the Divine Services. Parents are asked to review the childrens portion with their children. It is very important for us to attend the Divine Services on Sundays and whenever else we are able, but in addition it is our spiritual responsibility to educate ourselves and our families in the faith. It is our hope that this mid-week offering will be an aid in this regard. Please contact Fr. Gregory with questions or suggestions.

For Adults: from the Orthodox Church in America

For Youth: from the Antiochian Archdiocese (various age groups)

The Pandemic of Grumbling

If you are constantly angry and complaining, it is indicative of a proud soul. Humble yourself, reproach yourself, and the Lord is powerful to give you comfort and a helping hand. St. Anatoly of Optina (Living without Hypocrisy, p. 35)

Monday First Things - Teachings of the Holy Fathers
14/6/21, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

In going to church, think that thou art going to the house of the King of Heaven, where with fear and joy one ought to stand as in heaven before the King of Heaven. While standing in church, do not look around to the sides and do not look at how someone is standing and praying, lest thou be condemned with the Pharisee, since thou didst not come to judge others, but to ask for mercy for thyself from God the Judge and Knower of hearts. Gaze with compunction toward the altar alone, where the holy sacrifice is offered. More than anything else, beware of laughter and conversations, for whoever laughs or converses while standing in church does not render honor to the holy place and tempts others and prevents others from praying.

Spevka for All!

There are several prayers that we sing together at St. Vladimir's. We want you to know this so that you can practice. :) And as we come out of the pandemic it is the perfect time to practice MORE! That way we will sing these with zeal - with power! WE SHOULD BE LIFTING THE ROOF WHEN WE SING THESE - THEY SHOULD BE SUNG VERY STRONGLY - ESPECIALLY THE CREED AND "HAVING BEHELD THE RESURRECTION..."

Saturday Vigil (and matins during Pentecost) - "Having Beheld the Resurrection of Christ":
