Conquer men by your gentle kindness, and make zealous men wonder at your goodness. Put the lover of justice to shame by your compassion. With the afflicted be afflicted in mind. Love all men, but keep distant from all men.

There is not a sign up for the funeral, which will be held outside. Masks are required for the funeral service, as is 6-foot social distancing. We will mark places for people to stand safely. Overflow space on the lawn may be used, but masks and physical distancing must be maintained even if all marked spots are occupied. It is imperative that those who are present follow the directions of Parish Council members, who will be present to assist with the funeral and quarantine logistics. The funeral will be broadcast live on our Facebook page for those who are unable to attend, and posted later on our YouTube page.

Burial will be at the St. Vladimir Parish Cemetery.

May Nicks memory be eternal!

Liturgy on your Name's Day?
29/5/20, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

It is a true blessing to have the opportunity to partake of Holy Communion on one's patron saint's day. Fr. Gregory is willing to consider serving Liturgy on your name's day yes YOURS. If you would be willing to attend the Divine Services on the eve of the feast and on the feast itself, and to partake of Holy Communion on that day please contact him. This is not a guarantee that we can do this but we can certainly try. But please don't tell him a week before. Something like six months before would be better three months before as a minimum. See Fr. Gregory with questions or email ogrisha@stvladimiraami.org!

The single best way for us to pray for our friends and loved ones is to arrange for them to be remembered at the Divine Liturgy. We serve approximately 130 Divine Liturgies per year, so your friends or loved ones will be prayed for approximately every three days as a rule at St. Vladimir's. Please visit the page linked below to learn more and to arrange for your friends and loved ones to be commemorated at the Divine Liturgy at St. Vladimirs:

One of the positive things that has come from the pandemic and quarantine is the great number of people that have volunteered to read at St. Vladimirs at the Divine Services. Many new people have begun to read, and we want to provide the opportunity for our new readers, or those who would like to learn to read in the future, to be more educated in the structure and process of the Divine Services. Or put another way, to learn what to read and sing when (and why). We will offer classes via Zoom/Google Meet Russian and separate classes in English. To express your interest please email info@stvladimiraami.org.

Christ is Risen!

I have the sad duty to report that today our brother in Christ, Nick Vlisides, fell asleep in the Lord. We ask your prayers for the newly reposed Nicholas, his wife Julia, his family, and all who are suffering at his loss. May the merciful Lord grant him His Kingdom! More information on the funeral arrangements will be forthcoming. For now your prayers for Nick, Julia, and their families are most important and most appreciated.

Indeed He is Risen!

Do not fall into despair because of stumbling. I do not mean that you should not feel contrition for them, but that you should not think them incurable. For it is more expedient to be bruised than dead. There is, indeed, a Healer for the man who has stumbled, even He Who on the Cross asked that mercy be shown to His crucifiers, He Who pardoned His murders while He hung on the Cross. All manner of sin, He said, and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men, that is, through repentance.
