Christ is Born! Glorify Him!

We present here a short educational offering for both children and adults on the upcoming Sunday's principle Gospel reading so that all can better prepare for the Divine Services. Parents are asked to review the children’s portion with their children. It is very important for us to attend the Divine Services on Sundays and whenever else we are able, but in addition it is our spiritual responsibility to educate ourselves and our families in the faith. It is our hope that this mid-week offering will be an aid in this regard. Please contact Fr. Gregory with questions or suggestions.

It is a pious tradition at St. Vladimir Church for virtually everyone to partake of the Holy Mysteries on the Feast of our Lord’s Nativity. Please confess early for the feast! Confessions will be heard at the following times – please take advantage of this opportunity!

Tuesday, January 5: Confession 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. (at St. Vladimir’s with Fr. Joseph – no appointment necessary)
Wednesday, January 6: Confession 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. (by appointment: see below), Confession during and following Vigil

Please note: those who have confessed beginning January 2 need not confess again before Nativity, but are welcome to partake of the Holy Mysteries having prepared themselves by reading the appointed prayer rule and attending the Divine Services for the feast.

Very trustworthy sources have reported that Father Frost will be at St. Vladimir’s immediately after the Divine Liturgy on Thursday, January 7. There will not be a Yolka/Christmas Pageant this year due to the pandemic, so this is the only chance to visit with Father Frost. Parents who would like to ensure their child gets a gift from Father Frost should contact Svetlana Mitchell by Wednesday, January 6 at 12:00 noon. After that it will be too late! Spend all the hours of your life in a way pleasing to God; keep in your mind the thought that after the present hour you will not be given another and that you will have to render a strict account for every minute of this present hour.

In case of inclement weather St. Vladimir’s parishioners are urged to use caution and their best judgment when deciding whether to travel to the parish church for Divine Services. If the priest is able to reach the church the Divine Services will be conducted, but if parishioners perceive the driving conditions to be dangerous they should not feel compelled to travel to church.

Please join us Sunday at 6:00 p.m. and Monday at 8:00 a.m. for the annual commemoration of Great Martyr Anastasia. If you cannot come to Vigil or Liturgy please try to join us on one of our live streams.
