ďNowadays, we need to live according to Christian laws and not according to the laws of this world. There is no need to watch how the world lives; it is governed by somewhat different rules.Ē

Please join us at 6:00 p.m. tonight for that service.

Tomorrow after the Divine Liturgy we will process to the ďJordanĒ and bless the waters according to the ancient practice of the Church. Divine Liturgy begins at 10:00 a.m. and we invite all to join us!

See you soon at St. Vladimirís!

We have had some GREAT traditional dancing by our young people and our adults at our festival over the last few years, and there has been a desire to continue this pleasant work outside of festival time. And so we will with Godís help! Rehearsals begin on Monday 1/20/20 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 3109 Scio Church Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48103. We thank our Greek Orthodox friends for their kindness in allowing us to use their hall for our rehearsals! The program includes: ethnic Slavic dancing, floor gymnastics and stretching. Two groups will be created: one for children, the second one for adults. Classes will be priced to make it possible for everyone to participate. Rehearsals will be Mondays from 6:00-7:00 p.m. for youth, and from 7:00-8:00 p.m. for adults. Learn more by reaching out to Inna Duerr: 734-477-6833.

Teen Photographers Needed!
14/1/20, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

We are in need of three regular photographers for our Saturday evening/Sunday morning services. WE WILL TRAIN YOU. We have to train you in fact Ė there are times when we can takes photos and times when we canít and we will explain that all to you. We have four teen gentlemen who are providing live video of the Divine Services so we would like to concentrate on young ladies for this task. But young gentlemen are welcome to join our photography cadre too. We are seeking those who do NOT serve in the altar or sing in the choir already. That is, those who are not involved/engaged in some sort of ministry in the parish presently. Those who volunteer will be assigned two weekend cycles of Divine Services per month (Saturday evening/Sunday morning), plus occasional feast day services like Nativity. Contact Fr. Gregory to learn more.

ďThoughts filled with love, mercy, patience, and respect attract Godís grace, and those that harbor anger, hatred, and pride drive it away. If we are overcome by anger, hatred, and pride, it indicates that Godís image within us is damaged.Ē

Inclement Weather Policy - Ice in the Forecast
10/1/20, 12:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

In case of inclement weather St. Vladimirís parishioners are urged to use caution and their best judgment when deciding whether to travel to the parish church for Divine Services. If the priest is able to reach the church the Divine Services will be conducted, but if parishioners perceive the driving conditions to be dangerous they should not feel compelled to travel to church.

Evangelism: Give a Ride to Church
9/1/20, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

We do not see our elderly parish family members at church every Sunday. And that is true for some of our students too. The reason for this is: they need rides to church. And they need a little prompting sometimes in this regard since they don't want to be ďa botherĒ. It is a privilege to serve our our elderly parish family members and students in this way and we need to be quite zealous about it. This is Evangelism - spreading the Gospel by allowing those who cannot drive to be exposed to it in God's House!

If you can help organize or participate in this ministry please contact Fr. Gregory. There are not a lot of folks that need rides, but they need to be contacted early in the week to arrange the Sunday ride, assured that they are not bothering anyone, and they need to be picked up in a timely manner on Sunday morning. One person doesn't have to do all this, and frankly speaking, based on where our elderly and students live, it would be impossible for one person to do it all. We need several people to help. Please contact Fr. Gregory to take part in this very honorable activity Ė an activity worth waking up early on Sunday morning to participate in.
