Posted by Fr. Gregory

Please join us on Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. for the priestly ordination of Deacon Dmitri Mihaliov! Fr. Dmitri will serve with us over the next academic year and then move to the Mackinaw Straits to take over the new St. Ambrose mission there. A good ordination gift for Fr. Dmitri would be to support the new mission. Please do so by visiting this link:

Priest Ordination August 27 - Instructions for Parishioners
24/8/23, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

God willing, Deacon Dmitri Mihaliov will be ordained a priest on Sunday, August 27 for service at our St. Ambrose Mission in Mackinaw City. Ordination is the sacrament of the Holy Church that we probably least often participate in, but it is important that we all participate in this ordination appropriately. We ask all our parishioners to review the ordination instructions here and to address questions to Fr. Gregory or Fr. Colin. Please remember - the Divine Liturgy begins at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 27.

Weekly Educational Offering - Prepare for the Coming Sunday!
23/8/23, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

We present here a short educational offering for both children and adults on the upcoming Sunday's principle Gospel reading so that all can better prepare for the Divine Services. Parents are asked to review the children’s portion with their children. It is very important for us to attend the Divine Services on Sundays and whenever else we are able, but in addition it is our spiritual responsibility to educate ourselves and our families in the faith. It is our hope that this mid-week offering will be an aid in this regard. Please contact Fr. Gregory with questions or suggestions.

Dormition Fast Began August 14
22/8/23, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

Please note that the Lenten period in preparation for the feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God begins on August 14. This is fast of a stricter character, similar to Great Lent. Fish is allowed only on the feast of the Transfiguration, August 19. It is important that we make a sincere effort at fasting by abstaining from meat and dairy products, but with the express intent of abstaining from these foods to aid us in abstaining from our sins and preparing ourselves worthily for the feast of the Dormition. As with all fasting periods, we abstain from meat and dairy products during this fast. The full schedule of Divine Services denotes the strictness of the fasting days and can be found here:

DIVINE SERVICES AT STV

Those who have questions about fasting should contact Fr. Gregory or Fr. Colin.
