It is a true blessing to have the opportunity to partake of Holy Communion on one's patron saint's day. Fr. Gregory is willing to consider serving Liturgy on your name's day – yes YOURS. If you would be willing to attend the Divine Services on the eve of the feast and on the feast itself, and to partake of Holy Communion on that day please contact him. This is not a guarantee that we can do this – but we can certainly try. But please don't tell him a week before. Something like six months before would be better – three months before as a minimum. See Fr. Gregory with questions or email ogrisha@stvladimiraami.org!

As most of our parishioners are aware, Fr. Gregory has several responsibilities in addition to being our parish Rector. He is the Dean of the Michigan Parishes of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, the Dean of our Diocesan Seminary, and the Secretary of the the Diocesan Council. All these things are getting done, but with some help they could be done much better than they are. Presently there are two volunteer opportunities to help Fr. Gregory with these duties:
1. Help with Audio/Visual at St. Vladimir's: we are presently streaming audio of our major Divine Services. This is great! But we would like to revive our "Sound of the Parish" blog. That means we need one or two people to see to it that recorded Divine Services are edited and posted there. We would also like to do more video and still photography. Again - that means we need one or two people to help out.
2. Matthew 25 Leaders: Please have a look at this blog entry:
http://blogtushka.blogspot.com/2017/06/ ... ponse.html
We need people to fill these leadership positions! We have some - we need more. Please help if you can!
3. Church School Volunteers: after the Divine Services the Church School is the most important ministry of our parish. Archbishop Peter has blessed the Church School - all children and parents should be participating in this crucial effort. You needn't be a theologian to be a teacher or a volunteer - but you have to be willing to learn and to work hard to make our school successful. :)
Please contact Fr. Gregory if you would like to volunteer or if you would like to learn more. Each of us has a ministry. Perhaps one of the above opportunities is yours? If not - and that is totally understandable - challenge yourself. What IS your ministry? Please contact Fr. Gregory if you would like to discuss this or any other aspect of our faith.

We need teachers! We need folks to help organize events! We need other volunteers! This is the second most important ministry in the parish after the Divine Services. So let’s all work together to make our Church School amazing, wonderful, and incredible! Many hands make light work. Contact our Church School Coordinator, Alexander Pyrozhenko, or Fr. Gregory to learn more! Email: info@stvladimiraami.org.

We would like to arrange for St. Vladimir's to be open daily for certain set hours. We would then advertise this opportunity on our web site and elsewhere so that people would know they could come to the church during that time, pray, light candles, and otherwise seek the solace that can only be found in God's house. This is especially important for those who are not integrated into our parish community or who are not yet churched. In other words, THIS IS A MINISTRY - A SPIRITUAL GOOD WORK FOR THE SAKE OF CHRIST - A MISSIONARY ACTIVITY, and one that will help new people draw nearer to God and their salvation. But this will also help our present parishioners as well - since they too will have an opportunity to come to church even daily if they would like to do that. And frankly speaking, YOU TOO will benefit from being in the Lord's House more often!
Please note that we will have at least two St. Vladimir's parishioners present during these open hours. That is - no one will be at the church alone.
