Posted by Fr. Gregory

Confession and Communion are the two sacraments we most often partake of as Orthodox Christians and thus it behooves us to learn about these, how to prepare for these, and how to best take advantage of the Grace that our Lord freely gives us in these sacraments. At St. Vladimir’s we have created a special web site for this purpose with much information in this regard. Please find the web site listed below and please contact Fr. Gregory with questions!

The Ann Arbor Orthodox Classical Academy (A2OCA) school board is seeking additional volunteers to join the board who are passionate about offering children a quality, Orthodoxy education in the classical education tradition. Our new school building is under construction, and we are currently working towards planning and offering a microschooling program and online program for the 2022-2023, as well as a 5-day program the following school year (2023-2024). We need your help to make this happen! If you are interested in learning more about A2OCA feel free to visit our website at a2oca.org and/or e-mail us at info@a2oca.org. If you are interested in volunteering your time and talents towards this important cause, kindly e-mail us at info@a2oca.org to let us know by June 15, 2022. Board terms begin in July and run for two years. If you have experience in communications and/or marketing that would be a plus, but not a requirement.

Preparing the Parish Church for Pentecost
9/6/22, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

The great feast of Pentecost is June 12. Please join us on Saturday, June 11 for a Memorial Divine Liturgy beginning at 8:00 a.m. This is a Children's Liturgy and is our All-English Cycle for the month of June. Following the Liturgy we will decorate the parish church with boughs, branches, and flowers for the Pentecost vigil. This is a similar activity to our Lazarus Saturday church decoration in preparation for the Palm Sunday vigil. Many good memories are waiting to be made at these sorts of events. Please bring your children! It is especially important for them to participate in these sorts of activities. All are welcome!

Parish Picnic this Sunday – Fundraiser for our Parish School
9/6/22, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

Please join us this Sunday, on the great feast of Pentecost, for a special meal after the Divine Liturgy. We’ll have a parish picnic that will be a fund raiser for our Ann Arbor Orthodox Classical Academy building project. Proceeds from the meal will support our school, and you will have the chance to buy and sign boards and other building materials that will be used in the next step in construction. Buy a 2x4 for yourself, your mom, your friend, and most importantly: for the future of our parish. Yes – Christ is always our future. But we need to prepare the next generations of parish leaders and our school will play a HUGE part in that. Join us!

Weekly Educational Offering - Prepare for the Coming Sunday!
8/6/22, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

We present here a short educational offering for both children and adults on the upcoming Sunday's principle Gospel reading so that all can better prepare for the Divine Services. Parents are asked to review the children’s portion with their children. It is very important for us to attend the Divine Services on Sundays and whenever else we are able, but in addition it is our spiritual responsibility to educate ourselves and our families in the faith. It is our hope that this mid-week offering will be an aid in this regard. Please contact Fr. Gregory with questions or suggestions.
