19/4/21, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

Matins begins at 3:00 p.m. Liturgy will begin at approximately 6:00 p.m. Please join us for this remarkably beautiful and meaningful Lenten evening service!

The Liturgical Fast for those communing begins after breakfast for the 6:00 p.m. services. In other words, you may eat breakfast, but eat or drink nothing further after that. Parents should use their best judgment regarding their children, as always. Those who confessed on the weekend prior to the Wednesday Presanctified need not confess again on/before Wednesday.

PLEASE NOTE! There are other Presanctified Liturgies throughout Great Lent that begin with Matins at 8:00 a.m. and Liturgy about 11:00 a.m. - mostly on Fridays. Please consult the schedule of services on our web site for more details.

Monday First Things - Teachings of the Holy Fathers

Whatever you are doing, with whomever you are speaking, whether you are going somewhere or sitting, let your mind be with the Lord. You will forget yourself, and stray from this path; but again turn to the Lord and rebuke yourself with sorrow. This is the discipline of spiritual attentiveness.

Great Lent Ending - Act Now!
15/4/21, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

It is hard to believe, but this coming Sunday is the LAST SUNDAY of Great Lent. Strictly speaking there are two lenten periods at this time of year: Great Lent and Holy Week. Great Lent ends with the Presanctified Liturgy on Friday, April 23. That means this Sunday is the last Sunday of Great Lent. The ideal response to this shocking news should be reflection. How have I done? What do I want to do before we meet the risen Christ on May 2? What is my plan for Holy Week? Maybe things have not been just what I planned, but how can I make good use of the rest of this most important time of year? As a help to your prayerful reflection we provide a link to our Holy Week and Bright Week schedule below. Please take advantage of the daily services those two weeks. This is a time for us to be in church as often as possible, walking with Christ during Holy Week and celebrating with Him and the disciples (and our parish family) in his Resurrection during Bright Week. May the Lord help us in our struggle!

Our usual pandemic guidelines will be followed, as at all other Divine Services in the Winter Worship Space. Details can be found at the flyer below, which would also be good to share with friends and loved ones:

Following the Unction service there will be a short presentation on our parish efforts at meeting the Lord’s Matthew 25 Challenge. We welcome support from all those of good will, and hope to spread these efforts to other deanery parishes. Please plan to join us!
