House Blessing Time – Make Your Appointment Now!
19/1/22, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

Each year following the feast of the Theophany (the Lord’s Baptism – January 19) it is a traditional and pious custom to have one’s home blessed by the priest. Homes are blessed at St. Vladimir’s until the beginning of Great Lent. Please visit this link to make an appointment:

SCHEDULE A HOUSE BLESSING

Please contact Fr. Gregory to schedule a house blessing if the times listed do not work for you. If you cannot find a convenient time please contact Fr. Gregory - homes can be blessed through the 5th week of Great Lent if need be. If you live far from St. Vladimir’s please consult with those other parishioners of St. Vladimir’s who live near you so that you can all have your homes blessed on the same day. If you would like to have Fr. Colin bless your house please contact him at priestcolinbower@stvladimiraami.org. Congratulations to all with the feast of our Lord’s Baptism!

Weekly Educational Offering - Prepare for the Coming Sunday!
19/1/22, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

We present here a short educational offering for both children and adults on the upcoming Sunday's principle Gospel reading so that all can better prepare for the Divine Services. Parents are asked to review the children’s portion with their children. It is very important for us to attend the Divine Services on Sundays and whenever else we are able, but in addition it is our spiritual responsibility to educate ourselves and our families in the faith. It is our hope that this mid-week offering will be an aid in this regard. Please contact Fr. Gregory with questions or suggestions.

Emergency Cards Available
18/1/22, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

The diocese has provided each of our parishes with Emergency Cards. These cards are to be filled out and put in your wallet so that if it were ever to happen that you were in an accident or otherwise needed spiritual support, but could not speak for yourself, the authorities would find the card in your wallet and call Fr. Gregory to come to you. We hope none of our parishioners ever needs to use one of these cards, but it is a good idea to have one just in case. Please see Fr. Gregory if you have questions. Emergency cards can be found near the front doors - near the pamphlets that are available to all for free.

On-Line Prayer Request

Posted by Fr. Gregory

The single best way for us to pray for our friends and loved ones is to arrange for them to be remembered at the Divine Liturgy. We serve approximately 130 Divine Liturgies per year, so your friends or loved ones will be prayed for approximately every three days as a rule at St. Vladimir's. Please visit the page linked below to learn more and to arrange for your friends and loved ones to be commemorated at the Divine Liturgy at St. Vladimir’s:

Members – Pick Your Duty
13/1/22, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

It is understood and expected that each member of our parish would have at least one duty that they participate in IN ADDITION to attending the Divine Services. This ranges from baking prosphora, to picking sticks in the cemetery, to shoveling snow, and more! If we all do our little part we will equitably care for the parish the Lord has entrusted to us, and we will not kill off those who do these things if no one else does. It is wise for us to preserve the leadership of our parish, but it is also moral for each parish member to do their part. So please pitch in, and if you have not chosen your duty yet please contact our parish Secretary, Marina Edwards. If she doesn’t hear from you she will reach out to you soon. You can email her at info@stvladimiraami.org or see her in church. Thank you diligently following through on this program. More involvement in the parish promotes persistence in being part of the parish family – and it keeps a few people from doing everything. With God’s help we will make our metaphor of “family” even more real in our parish by working together for God’s glory in this way!
