Second Pascha of Former Ann Arbor Parish is Today
3/11/22, 12:00 PM

The parish that existed in Ann Arbor in the 1950s, and was subsequently dissolved when no priest could be sent after the death of Fr. Peter DeMett, was named in honor of the Venerable Hilarion the Great. This is why we have an icon of St. Hilarion on our iconostasis – as a sort of spiritual continuity with those who first founded a Russian Orthodox Church here in Ann Arbor .The feast of St. Hilarion this year falls on Thursday, November 3. We invite all St. Vladimir’s parishioners on this day to fervently entreat the prayers of the favorite of God, St. Hilarion the Great, that the work begun by those first Russian Orthodox Christians in Ann Arbor will be continued worthily by us sinners, the parish family of St. Vladimir Church.
