Each first Sunday of the month we will have Parish Council members ready to help you during the parish meal. Help you by answering questions you may have about why you should support your parish. Help you by answering questions about how you can support your parish. Help you by assisting you in setting up a recurring donation to support St. Vladimir’s if you would like to do so. No one will attack you. :) But if you would like help, or you have questions, we are setting aside this time specifically for this purpose.

It is Cold in the Barn!

Yes it is – it is cold in the barn. We are working on this! We will implement two new “torpedo” heaters beginning this coming week. We hope these will help a lot. It will never be a tropical paradise in the barn, but we hope using these additional heaters will help a lot. We appreciate everyone’s patience in this regard and we continue to welcome your feedback about the winter worship space or any aspect of our parish life!

Posted by Fr. Gregory

Dear St. Vladimir’s Parishioners! We would like to urge you to consider whether making a donation to the parish before December 31, 2020 would be helpful for you as you consider your tax liability for the year 2020. Donations to St. Vladimir Church are deductible to the greatest extent allowable by law. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions in this regard. It is also very important that your address be up to date in our parish database. If you have moved this year please contact our parish Secretary, Lauren Rogers (info@stvladimiraami.org), with your new address.

Monday First Things - Teachings of the Holy Fathers
28/12/20, 06:00 AM

If [the disease of sin] is natural, then it cannot be cured. Thus it would remain always, no matter how hard you worked to rid yourself of it. If you accept this thought, you will lose heart, and say to yourself: this is how it is. For this is that woeful despair, which, once it has been introduced into people, they have given themselves over to lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness (Ephesians 4: 19).

I shall repeat again: Maintain the conviction that our disorderliness is not natural to us, and do not listen to those who say, ‘It is no use talking about it, because that is just how we are made, and you cannot do anything about it.’ That is not how we are made, and if we undertake to cure ourselves, then we will be able to do something about it.

Congratulations to those Celebrating Nativity Today
25/12/20, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

We congratulate all our parish friends and family who are celebrating the Incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ today. Although we will not celebrate for 13 days as a parish we understand that most of our society is celebrating today - and whether you celebrate today or in 13 days it is still remarkable and noteworthy that more than 2000 years after the birth of the Savior the world still pauses to note His Incarnation on this day. May this be the year that the hymn of the angels heard all those centuries ago over Bethlehem be actualized in our world: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, goodwill and peace.”
