Procession of the Cross is August 14
12/8/21, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

Please plan to join us for the feast of the Procession of the Cross, on August 13 at 6:00 p.m. for Evening Services and August 14 at 8:00 a.m. for Divine Liturgy. All are welcome!

This feast will be the all-English cycle of Divine Services for the month of August. Please invite friends and loved ones!

August 14 marks the beginning of the Dormition Lenten Period, which runs through the end of the Divine Liturgy on Saturday, August 28. On the feast of the Procession of the Cross there is a lesser blessing of water following the Divine Liturgy and on this day honey is blessed. This is the first feast of the Savior in August and is known in Russian as the “Honey Savior”.

If you cannot come to the Evening Services or Liturgy please try to join us on one of our live streams:

IOCC Kits this Dormition Fast
12/8/21, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

The Lenten period in preparation for the feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God begins August 14. It is our tradition to make IOCC School Kits (to help kids in countries that need to bring their own school supplies to school in order to attend school) during this Lenten period. We’ll do the same this year with appropriate disease precautions. On Sunday, August 15 we will have a special collection to support this effort. If you can’t make it that day please contact Marina Edwards to make your donation. On Saturday, August 21 we will make the school kits following the Divine Liturgy (starting about 10:30 a.m.). This is an important effort to get our KIDS involved in. They will be helping their peers in other countries to be educated. Please plan to join us in supporting this important effort!

Weekly Educational Offering - Prepare for the Coming Sunday!
11/8/21, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

We present here a short educational offering for both children and adults on the upcoming Sunday's principle Gospel reading so that all can better prepare for the Divine Services. Parents are asked to review the children’s portion with their children. It is very important for us to attend the Divine Services on Sundays and whenever else we are able, but in addition it is our spiritual responsibility to educate ourselves and our families in the faith. It is our hope that this mid-week offering will be an aid in this regard. Please contact Fr. Gregory with questions or suggestions.

For Adults: from the writings of Blessed Theophylact

For Youth: from the Antiochian Archdiocese (various age groups)
