Please join us this Sunday during our parish meal for a presentation by Bill Edwards on our Matthew 25 efforts. A flyer with more information can be found at the link below – please spread the word! More information on our Matthew 25 efforts can be found at the other link below. :) Don’t forget our Brotherhood is cooking this Sunday and we’ll visit our parish cemetery and share the good news of the Resurrection with our friends and loved ones resting there and waiting for the General Resurrection when the Lord comes again. Until He comes let us work – and focus on the work He calls us to do in Matthew 25!

You are on Telegram – so we are too! Not that we need to spend more time on social media during Great Lent. But if you are on Telegram we will be too – maybe telling you to get off of social media and into your prayer corner! :)

You Are a Missionary
6/5/22, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

The Lord has entrusted us with the Pearl of Great Price – the Orthodox Faith. Are we hiding this? Are we keeping it for ourselves? Or are we following the example of the Apostles and working actively to spread our saving faith? If you had the cure for a bodily disease like cancer you would never keep that to yourself – it is obvious that this would be unethical and sinful. But we have the cure for DEATH! And sadly – we mostly keep it to ourselves. And that is even more unethical and sinful that hiding the cure for any bodily disease. Share your faith. Invite a friend, loved one, or neighbor to the Divine Services this coming weekend – and assure them that you will be there to welcome them to St. Vladimir’s. If we would all do this – if we would make just a minimal effort to invite others – we would need to seriously rethink the size of the new church we plan to build because it would be way TOO SMALL. Let’s do that. Let’s make all our plans useless because there are just too many people in our parish family! Success only comes before work in the dictionary – let us get to work spreading our Orthodox Faith by simply inviting others to join us at St. Vladimir’s!

Busy Sunday! Here's What's Happening
5/5/22, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

Wait! Didn't we go to the graves last Sunday? Indeed we did! And we planned to visit the graves of our friends and loved ones in our parish cemetery on the Day of Rejoicing. But it rained. Hard. Too hard to make that visit. So we'll do it on Sunday with a full cross procession after the Divine Liturgy!

Then: we'll have our meal, prepared by our St. John Brotherhood. Why? Because this is the Sunday of the Myrrh-Bearing Women and it is our parish tradition for the brothers to cook and clean on this day. You don't want to miss this meal!

Then: we'll have our regularly scheduleD parish council meeting. You can find out MORE ABOUT PARISH COUNCIL HERE.

AND: it is Mother's Day in America too! What better gift could you give your mother than to be in church on this day, praying for her, and bringing her too if that is possible? That is a rhetorical question - there is NO BETTER GIFT!

Please join us as your personal schedule allows!

Bright Barbecue Thank You!
5/5/22, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

What a great turnout we had on Saturday for our Bright Barbecue in support of our parish school! Thank you to all who worked so hard to make this happen: those that planned it, those that executed it, those that volunteered at the evening, those that gave before-during-after the event, and those who participated in day two of the event on Sunday after the Liturgy! We are still working on financials, but we made thousands of dollars to support the building of our parish school! But we still need you! Learn more about how you can help build our school at the following link:

Feast of St. George is Thursday Night/Friday Morning
4/5/22, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

Please join us on Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m. and Friday morning at 8:00 a.m. for the annual celebration of the Great Martyr George, one of the most universal saints of the Orthodox Church. That is, he is loved by all from Africa, to Russia, to Japan, to America, etc. There is no Orthodox country or Church that does not robustly celebrate the annual commemoration of St. George! And that includes STV! Join us as your personal schedule allows!

Weekly Educational Offering - Prepare for the Coming Sunday!
4/5/22, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

We present here a short educational offering for both children and adults on the upcoming Sunday's principle Gospel reading so that all can better prepare for the Divine Services. Parents are asked to review the children’s portion with their children. It is very important for us to attend the Divine Services on Sundays and whenever else we are able, but in addition it is our spiritual responsibility to educate ourselves and our families in the faith. It is our hope that this mid-week offering will be an aid in this regard. Please contact Fr. Gregory with questions or suggestions.
