Daylight Savings Time Begins this Weekend
6/3/26, 12:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

Please remember that this Sunday we "spring forward" one hour as we transition to Daylight Savings Time. This is important because if you do not change your clocks you will be not less than one hour late to church! And no one wants that! Please remember to move your clocks forward one hour after vigil on Saturday night. See you - on time - at St. Vladimir's this Sunday! :)

Folks ask about this each year during Great Lent. This is an excerpt from a presentation I gave to the clergy of the Eastern American Diocese a few years ago. Hopefully it is helpful. -Fr. Gregory

Lenten Recipes!

We are often asked about Lenten recipes. One can't really make it through any fasting period on only peanut butter and jelly. We present here some recipes that you may find helpful to diversify your diet during lent. Remember: anything that is vegan fits the fast, and since vegan diets have become popular lately, you can search for these on the Internet. We can't comment on the quality of the recipes you'll find when you make such a search, but the recipes below are GOOD!

Evening Presanctified Liturgies this Wednesday!
3/3/26, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

This year, with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Gabriel, we will celebrate the beautiful Divine Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts throughout Great Lent on Wednesday evenings. Matins begins at 3:00 p.m. Liturgy will begin at approximately 6:00 p.m. Following each of these services our St. Xenia Sisterhood will organize a light Lenten dinner. Please contact our Head Sister, Ksenia Nikulshina (headsister@stvladimiraami.org or see her in church) if you would like to help with the dinner. We have excellent Lenten recipes to share if you’d like to try something new! Please join us for these remarkably beautiful and meaningful Lenten evening services and for mid-week fellowship with your parish family at the meal afterwards!

Wednesday, March 4
Wednesday, March 11
Wednesday, March 18
Thursday, March 26 – NOTE THIS IS A THURSDAY
Wednesday, April 1

The Liturgical Fast for those communing begins after breakfast for the ~6:00 p.m. services. In other words, you may eat breakfast, but eat or drink nothing further after that. Parents should use their best judgment regarding their children, as always. Those who confessed on the weekend prior to the Wednesday Presanctified need not confess again on/before Wednesday.

PLEASE NOTE! There are other Presanctified Liturgies throughout Great Lent - mostly on Fridays. Please consult the schedule of services on our web site for more details.
